7Commandoz & Jay Beom Fan Channels

Monica Chang took these great photos of Peter and I at New York a few weeks ago. She's my favorite hip hop photographer! Check out here Myspace site full of photos. Monica loves taking photos of hip hop events, and I love writing about them. We got something special planned for the future collaborations....

I finished editing Strife's SEVEN COMMANDOZ interview last night. It was a pleasure to get a video out featuring our friends Differ, Hong10, Wing, and Skim. I really hoped viewers watching it got a good feel of each dancer's personality, which is always hard to grasp from watching their battle footages. Some of the comments I've gotten were, "I've never heard Wing's voice before" and "never saw hong10 laugh this much." Comments like that made me feel good because it's exactly what I try to aim for in a personal interview. I like doing foreign interviews. I enjoy the sense of accomplishment for finishing something as getting a language translated for viewers to watch. Thanks for all my friends with assisting with the language translation, btw.

Here is the original video, before all the editing. The color quality looks so much different, right? Although I filmed this video in October, and didn't get time to finish it until now, in a way...I feel like I justice by waiting. If I had edited this 5 months ago, without my current knowledge of color correction, it would have looked like the video above. Looking back, I would have cringed and wonder why did I destroy a perfectly good interview?

JAY BEOM FAN CHANNELS
So get this, there is a fan made Youtube Channel devoted entire to former K-pop 2PM star, Jay Boem. Basically the camera fan girls stalk him at these b-boy jams, and film him walk into the door, dance in a cypher, and...(creepiness overload) watch a dance battle from the sidelines. This person's videos borderline on obsession! But you know what the sad thing is? These videos get more hits than many b-boy dance videos! No joke.

For example, this ten second video titled Jay arrives! has over 14,000 views. FOURTEEN thousand hits for just ten seconds of him walking through a door! That is more than Roxrite's dance class video. And it is definitely more than Problemz Kru vs X-Fenz, two of the illest dance crews from the East Coast. Obsessed I say...obsessed.

WHAT GRINDS MY GEARS
You know what really grinds my gears? B-boying is cool and all that, but what's with all the dudes adding me on Facebook? Like for real...90% of my Facebook page now is comprised of a b-boy sausage fest. What also grinds my gears is that sometimes someone with a name like Alexandra would add me, and I would think, "Hey cool, a cute girl," but then it turns out to be a b-boy dude from Eastern Europe. I should have gone into filming surfing competitions or beach volleyball. Why did I choose such a male dominated activity to film? (just joking)

A new episode of What Grinds My Gears will be filmed this weekend at Circles.
The b-boy doing it will be kept secret.

adding friends.

that's why i haven't added you yet...plus it's the reason why the ladies of strife suddenly get a huge surge in add requests, cos we're damn tired of this sausage fest.
